Necessary

I remember hating the rain when I was a kid; especially when it ruined big plans like vacations, birthday parties, and baseball games - you know, the essential things in life. My desires were put on hold and it was such an inconvenience. Rain, to me, was disruptive, negative, and taking "life" from me. It wasn't until I matured that I realized rain doesn't take away life. It brings life. What looks and feels gloomy at the moment provides growth for the season ahead. The statement, "April showers bring May flowers" is true. Rain is necessary for the nutrients of sustained life.
Another statement that's too often true is, When it rains, it pours." So many times when something negative takes place in our lives, it's compiled with more. Our understanding and patience are tested to the limit. It's raining. It's pouring. We must remember it's necessary for growth. Nutrients (lessons) can be applied, and we can grow. But we must open ourselves up to know the negative, gloomy, heavy, and sometimes scary moment will bring growth in our upcoming season of life. The thing is that the rain won't last. But the results of it will last when we allow ourselves to receive what it brings us.

And we know that for those who love God, all things work together for good,
for those who are called according to His purpose. - Romans 8:28
